The client
Coltura & Cultura is an editorial project by Bayer Crop Science Italia dedicated to exploring Italian agricultural supply chains. The collection includes 15 digital volumes that blend technical cultivation knowledge with cultural history and traditions. The project targets general audiences, students, and educators interested in understanding how Italian food is grown and reaches our tables.
The challenge
Modernize the visual identity of 15 digital volumes transitioning from print to fully digital format. Each volume needed a distinctive cover that felt contemporary in a digital environment while remaining immediately recognizable as a representation of its specific crop. The design needed to balance visual consistency across the collection with individual character for each crop.
Results & impact
15 illustrated covers successfully designed and published
Complete visual system implemented across all volumes
Social media campaign launched with original motion graphics
Published and freely accessible on Bayer's official platform
My role
Creative direction & design
Art direction for the complete collection
llustration concept development for all 15 covers
Visual system creation ensuring consistency across volumes
Social media visuals and promotional graphics
Motion graphics and video animations for social content
The illustrations
The concept behind each cover combines the natural form of the crop with a geometric, icon-like aesthetic, giving them a digital quality while keeping a strong visual connection to the subject. The colour palette for each cover was drawn directly from the natural colours found in each crop, including pinks, purples, and browns, so every choice has a reason rooted in nature itself.
